3.4 Defamation, Libel, and Slander Prevention
Shasta Exposed LLC does not intend to defame, slander, or libel any individual or entity. Commentary, critique, and analysis are presented in good faith based on publicly available information, public records, journalistic sources, and protected opinion. Statements of opinion are not presented as statements of fact. Any party who believes information requires correction or clarification is encouraged to provide documented evidence, and verified corrections will be addressed promptly.

  1. ANTI-SLAPP PROTECTION AGAINST RETALIATORY LITIGATION
    4.1 Shasta Exposed LLC is protected by California’s Anti-SLAPP Statute (Code of Civil Procedure §425.16), which prevents frivolous lawsuits filed to silence public participation and investigative reporting.
    4.2 Any lawsuit, cease-and-desist attempt, or legal intimidation strategy targeting lawful journalism will be challenged under Anti-SLAPP.
    4.3 Plaintiffs who bring unlawful retaliatory claims may be ordered by a court to pay attorney’s fees and costs (Briggs v. Eden Council, 19 Cal.4th 1106 (1999).
     
  2. REPORTER’S SHIELD LAW AND SOURCE PROTECTION
    Shasta Exposed LLC recognizes the right to protect confidential sources and unpublished materials under California Evidence Code §1070 and California Constitution Article I §2(b). Consistent with federal precedent (Shoen v. Shoen, 5 F.3d 1289 (9th Cir. 1993)), Shasta Exposed LLC will not disclose confidential journalistic sources except when compelled under applicable law.
     
  3. WHISTLEBLOWER PROTECTION NOTICE
