May Day Solidarity Cookout

This May Day, stand in solidarity with working people... not billionaires.

Join the May Day Strong Solidarity Cookout on

May 1, 2026

2:00 to 7:00 pm

Lake Redding Park BBQ Picnic Area

for food, community, and a reminder that real change happens when ordinary people come together

and refuse to be divided.

Hosted by local labor and community organizations, including Indivisible Redding Shasta.

And yes — we’re bringing a little action with the appetizers.

As part of the May Day action, supporters are encouraged to participate in solidarity with Starbucks Workers United by using the drive-thru protest action:

  • Place your Starbucks order
  • When you reach the window, cancel the order
  • leave a tip for the barista
  • hand over the QR code connecting them with Starbucks Workers United so they can learn more about organizing and workplace rights.

It’s simple. It’s peaceful.

And it reminds workers they are not alone.

Because May Day has never just been a holiday...

it’s a movement.

Workers over billionaires.

Solidarity forever.

Do Something Shasta County!

Steve Dodge from Facts Still Matter

is coming to Redding for

The Do Something Tour!

The world is on fire, and it will take hard work and perseverance to defend human rights and freedoms. What are you prepared to do?

On May 15, join us for an open, community-centered forum where every voice matters-especially those too often unheard.

This is your space to speak, ask questions, and be heard.

  • Re-engaging when you feel disenfranchised
  • Taking action at your own pace and comfort level
  • Real ways to make a difference in your community
  • Turning frustration into meaningful change

Because no matter where you come from, we all have a voice. And there is always something we can do.

ALL ARE WELCOME, REGARDLESS OF YOUR POLITICAL AFFILIATION!
